FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (March 28, 2024)

Grab your popcorn, bring a friend, and get ready for an evening of laughter at the library.

On Thursday, April 4, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., we will show “Migration”, a movie about a family of ducks trying to convince their overprotective father to go on the vacation of a lifetime.

The movie is rated PG and is 83 minutes long. Popcorn and drinks will be provided, and no library membership is required to attend this event. 

The total Solar Eclipse is Monday, April 8, 2024. Don’t have solar eclipse glasses yet? Call the Library to see if we have any left! 

Story Time is hosted every Wednesday from 10:30 – 11 a.m. Children are treated to stories, fun activities, and a snack. Before leaving, your child may choose a prize from the treasure chest. 

After-School Game Time is held each Thursday from 3:30 – 5 p.m. Children can play the PS5 on the large screen in the meeting room and board games are also available.

NEW BOOKS: “The Fury” by Alex Michaelides, “A Short Rope for a Tall Man” by Nate Morgan, “Preacher’s Purge” by J.A. Johnstone, and “Calm Your Mind with Food: A Revolutionary Guide to Controlling Your Anxiety” (Dewey 616) by Uma Naidoo.

For the 2024 eclipse, no other state has a longer path of totality than Texas, with 478 miles of shadow coverage. The path of the 2024 eclipse has a maximum width of about 125.9 miles. From Texas to Maine and is about 2,142 miles long, representing only about 23 percent of its total length.
