North Texas Film Critics Association Announces this year’s winners in 13 categories

DALLAS – And the winners are….

The North Texas Film Critics Association (NTFCA) announced today the winners in each of the organization’s 13 voting categories.

Last week NTFCA announced their nominations with membership voting for one final winner in each of the categories.

“Oppenheimer” and “The Holdovers” were the membership favorites overall, with “Oppenheimer” the winner for Best Picture. However, when the votes were tallied “The Holdovers” trailed by only two votes in that category.

In the Gary Murray Award (Best Ensemble) category “Oppenheimer” was the winner, but “Iron Claw” was short only one vote to tie in that category.

For the first time, The Best Supporting Actor category saw a tie with both Robert Downey Jr., (“Oppenheimer”) and Glenn Howerton, (“Blackberry”) receiving an equal number of votes for a win.

The new category of Best Screenplay this year saw excellent nominees, but “The Holdovers” was the big winner.

“The North Texas Film Critics Associations and its membership are thrilled to announce this year’s winners in our 13 categories,” said NTFCA President Rita Cook. “Overall, our membership spends many hours each year viewing films to access and vote on the best of the best in our annual awards.”
