FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (April 11, 2024)
Ready... Set... LIBRARY!
Race to discover the possibilities at the Ferris Public Library during National Library Week, Apr. 7–13, 2024.
Libraries give us a green light to something truly special: a place to connect with others, learn new skills, and focus on what matters most.
Enjoy the scenic route through the stacks to find your new favorite story, or take a virtual detour and see all the resources that we offer online.
No matter where you find yourself on the roadmap through life’s journey, preparing for a new career, launching a business, or raising a family, the library provides an inclusive and supportive community where everyone belongs.
Story Time is hosted every Wednesday from 10:30 – 11 a.m. Children are treated to stories, fun activities, and a snack. Before leaving, your child may choose a prize from the treasure chest.
After-School Game Time is held each Thursday from 3:30 – 5 p.m. Children can play the PS5 on the large screen in the meeting room and board games are also available.
FUN FACTS: Texas is home to a gigantic Walmart-turned-library. You don’t necessarily need to head to the Library of Congress to feel overwhelmed by the written word. The McAllen Public Library in McAllen, Texas is housed in a converted Walmart location and might be the largest single-story library location in the country. The 123,000-square foot space has a computer lab, a cafe, and a 180-seat auditorium.
The library is located at 301 E. 10th St., across from Mutz Ballpark. Library staff may be reached at ferrislibrary@ferristexas.gov or (972) 544-2110, Option 9.
