FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (February 3, 2022)
The Ferris Public Library will be having our Annual Black History Month contest again this year. We’ve set up a display of black history books, and flag them in our system to let us know who checked out certain books. So it’s fun to learn history, and it’s pretty fun to win, too!
Currently, we have our adorable Valentine’s Day books on display. It’s never too early to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Local novelist, Dez Tovar, donated her first book “Bellowing Hollers” to the library and has now given us her second book, “Whispering Hollers”; both are suspenseful thrillers. They come highly recommended by several of our patrons. We’re looking forward to her third book in this series.
NEW BOOKS: “Harlem Shuffle” by Colson Whitehead, “The Night She Disappeared” by Lisa Jewell, “Shiloh: A Kindred Novel” by Lori Benton, “The Becoming: The Dragon Heart Legacy #2” by Nora Roberts, “Last Girl Ghosted” by Lisa Unger, “Waiting on Love” by Tracie Peterson.
A donation purchased the following books by Susan and Joe Burch in memory of Franklin Scherer and Dennis Andre: “Tiger Woods” (Bio), “The No B.S. Guide to Military Life: How to Achieve Greatness” (Dewey 355), “The Complete Gardener’s Guide: The One-stop Guide to Plan, Sow, Plant, and Grow Your Garden” (Dewey 635), “1,001 Gardening Tips & Tricks: Timeless Advice for Growing Vegetables, Flowers, Shrubs, and More” (Dewey 635), “Ultimate Guide to Furniture Repair & Refinishing: Restore, Rebuild, and Renew Wooden Furniture” (Dewey 684), and “Your Road to a Championship: Swing Development to Winning Golf” (Dewey 796).
