FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (January 27, 2022)

Article Image Alt Text

December was a fun time here at the Ferris Public Library. We gave out almost a hundred Christmas Grab & Go Craft Bags. The children liked the goodies, and we enjoyed playing a small part of your family's holiday.

We had a positive outcome during our annual inventory. Only four items were reported as “unseen” with the library’s cost of $37.58. We haven’t marked them as lost yet because, just like at your house, you never know where a book will turn up.

The Ferris Historical Society’s Museum has a new home at the Ferris ISD Administration Building, 301 E. 5th Street. We tried to accommodate the museum here at the library but sadly didn’t have adequate space for all the exhibits. I haven’t visited yet, but people tell me it’s a great match, providing sufficient room for all the items pertaining to Ferris’ history collected over the years.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and Stacey has made a cute display with all of our Valentine books ready for you to check-out and enjoy.

NEW BOOKS: “Wish You Were Here” by Jodi Picoult, “Never” by Ken Follett, “Forgiving Paris” by Karen Kingsbury, “Game On: Tempting Twenty-Eight” by Janet Evanovich, “Bullet for a Stranger: A Red Ryan Western” by William W. Johnstone, “Ride for Justice: Ralph Compton Gunfighters Series” by Robert Randisi, “Return to Gila Bend: Ralph Compton Gunfighters Series” by Carlton Stowers, “Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence” (Dewey 152) by Anna Lembke, M.D., “The Least of Us: True Tales of America and Hope in the Time of Fentanyl and Meth” (Dewey 362) by Sam Quinones, and “Frequently Asked Questions About the Universe” (Dewey 523) by Jorge Cham.
