FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (May 30, 2024)

The Ferris Public Library holds an annual Summer Reading Club. The theme of this year’s summer program is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”

We will print the schedule and place them in the students’ end-of-school-year packets. If your child does not attend Ferris ISD, you may pick up a calendar in-person at the library.

We are happy to say the library’s annual book sale will be held this year during our Summer Reading Club.

Story Time is hosted every Wednesday from 10:30 – 11 a.m. Children are treated to stories, fun activities, and a snack. Before leaving, your child may choose a prize from the treasure chest.

After-School Game Time is held each Thursday from 3:30 – 5 p.m. Children can play the PS5 on the large screen in the meeting room and board games are also available.

NEW BOOKS: “Funny Story” by Emily Henry, “Toxic Prey” by John Sandford, “Only the Brave” by Danielle Steel, “The Housemaid” by Freida McFadden, and “The Complete Guide to Vegetable Gardening: Create, Cultivate, and Care for Your Perfect Edible Garden” (Dewey 635) by Editors of Gardening Know How.

BOOK BLURB: “Funny Story” by Emily Henry, released April 2024. A shimmering, joyful new novel about a pair of opposites with the wrong thing in common, from #1 New York Times bestselling author Emily Henry. Named a “Most anticipated book of 2024” by TIME.

The library is located at 301 E. 10th St., across from Mutz Ballpark. Library staff may be reached at ferrislibrary@ferristexas.gov or (972) 544-2110, Option 9.
