FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (November23, 2023)
We had an excellent turnout for our children’s fall craft days as well as our adult craft class. The book page wreaths looked fantastic. We have some very talented people in our community! Thank you to everyone who participated.
From our staff, we wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels! We will be closed Nov. 23 – 27 and will return to our regular hours on Tuesday, Nov, 28, at 9:00 am.
Story Time is hosted every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Children are treated to stories, fun activities, and a snack. Before leaving, your child may choose a prize from the Treasure Chest to take home.
After-School Game Time is held each Thursday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Children can play the PS5 on the large screen in the meeting room, board games are also available.
NEW BOOKS: “Obsession” by Stuart Woods, “Dirty Thirty” by Janet Evanovich, “Traitors Gate: A William Warwick Series” by Jeffrey Archer, “23 ½ Lies” by James Patterson, “Blood Memory” (Dewey 599) by Dayton Duncan, and “Bad Mormon” (Dewey BIO) by Heather Gay.
FUN FACT: The first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade featured Central Park Zoo animals. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was originally called the “Macy’s Christmas Parade” to kick off the holiday shopping season. Held in 1924, the first parade included monkeys, bears, camels, and elephants borrowed from the Central Park Zoo instead of the traditional character balloons we know today.
The library is located at 301 E. 10th St., across from Mutz Ballpark. Library staff may be reached at ferrislibrary@ferristexas.gov or (972) 544-2110, Option 9.
