FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (October 21, 2021)
The Ellis County, Marine Corps League, Toys for Tots is gearing up and preparing to provide toys to children in need all over Ellis County.
They have already held a fundraiser at the Old Brickyard Golf Course and will be having a Toy Run on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at the Avenue Church located at 2300 W. Ennis Ave. in Ennis. The ride will end at the VFW Post 3894, 1405 S. I-35 Frontage Road in Waxahachie. There will be Live Music, Food Trucks, a Silent Auction, and a 50/50 & Gun Raffle. The cost is $10.00 per rider and $15.00 for couples. Walk-ins $10.00 per person or an unwrapped toy of equal value.
The local impact that this group provides is immense. Last year, Ellis County Toys for Tots distributed 9,498 toys, bringing the joy of Christmas to 2,600 children.
If you want to donate an unwrapped toy, you may drop it off here at the Ferris Public Library, 301 E. 10th Street, and it will be given to this non-profit charity. For more information, the website is ennis-tx.toysfortots.org. You may also request an application to sign-up your child(ren) at this website.
