LOCAL STUDENT UPDATE: April 20, 2023

Silas Sandles of Waxahachie was among 360-plus student presenters at the Fifth Annual Piedmont University Symposium on April 12. Symposium celebrates academic achievement and has become a tradition at Piedmont. Students apply and must be accepted to participate in the event, which is held on both the Demorest and Athens campuses.

Elizabeth Dorris of Waxahachie was one of more than 450 University of Dallas undergraduate students named to the fall 2022 Dean’s List.

Janicia Gonzalez of Midlothian and Caitlynn Freyman of Waxahachie were among the 300 students named to the fall 2022 Honor Roll at the University of Dallas.

The following local students at Texas Tech were recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines: Thalia Avila, Justin Crumpton, Cade Gilson and Erin Green of Midlothian; Corinne Auvenshine, Kayla Campbell, Michelle Nesbith-Sykes and Savannah Stewart of Waxahachie.
