The dynamics of discipleship (part 9)
“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – ACTS 1:8
One hundred twenty sold-out followers of the Christ in one place, in one accord waiting on the promise of God to receive power to be His body in the earth. It is imperative that we receive the power to be His ministers, but this practice has been forgotten and has all but disappeared today in the modern church, replaced with the dead tradition of men and the religious doctrine of demons.
When I returned from Indiana, everything changed and the Word came alive to me, and the love of Jesus welled up in me so that my whole outlook on life changed, and my world view had become His. I was a new man with a new vision and a new way of life, old things had definitely passed away and all things became new to me. I began to devour the Word and a man from the revival, Milton Green, came down and taught me how to cast out demons. Milt was just a humble carpet cleaner who wanted all God had, and I learned much from him.
Milt eventually met James Robison and took him through deliverance and he also changed and was set free. Together they began to hold seminars and hundreds were set free and delivered from all sorts of strongholds. This went on for several years and it was like going through Bible college for me and the Word permeated by very being, filling me with His divine wisdom and knowledge.
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” – ACTS 2:17-21
