ON THE JOB TRAINING (Part 13)
Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” – MATTHEW 8:23-27
Back in about 1985 we obtained a 20 acre farm in Springtown, Texas where we began a residential ministry for women and a home for unwed mothers. As you know and if you don’t live in Texas you have seen on the news that we have violent storms and tornadoes. The artic blast we just endured knocked out the entire power grid and thousands were without power. My wife and I prayed and the power was only out for 10 minutes. Praise God!
I learned early on in my walk with Jesus that He has given us all authority over the powers of darkness and even over nature. There were many times the ladies in the program saw me standing out in a violent storm with tornadoes reported coming our way and I rebuked them and they always turned and God honored His word and kept us safe. Several years ago a giant tornado was coming straight for our neighborhood so we prayed and when it got to us it jumped over our home and ended up trashing most of downtown Ft. Worth.
We as the body of Christ have been given all the power of the kingdom and Jesus said that because He ascended to the throne of His Father that we would do greater works than He did while on the earth. The reason we don't see many miracles is because of fear, doubt and unbelief. So, fear not, exercise your God given faith and believe.
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” – LUKE 10:19
