ON THE JOB TRAINING (Part 3)
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels. – LUKE 9:25,26
Do you work to live or live to work? Many live to work becoming workaholics. Others work to live and be able to minister as well, I have experienced both! The love of money is not the root of all evil, but it is definitely one of them.
After my salvation experience and being set free from drugs, I became a tithing church member, and before long I was prospering in the Lord. At this point in my life I should have gone into full-time ministry, but instead I went back into the equipment business which was a bad choice because it quickly had my heart. One morning I was praying in my office with my friend and mentor and all of a sudden the Lord came in and spoke to me.
He said to get in your car and drive, and I said, “Where?” He told me to go to an old cemetery in Aurora, Texas where I used to go when we skipped school. We pulled in and the wind was blowing the old sign over the gate with the words, “I am the resurrection and the life” from John 11:25. We stopped at an old brush arbor and He told me about Lazarus who when He called him out of the grave he was wrapped with grave clothes. He then told me I was wrapped with the deceitfulness of riches and the worries of the world.
He told me to choose this day whom I was going to serve and I said, “You Lord!” I drove back to the office where a Constable was waiting to serve me papers and I ended up going bankrupt for over a half million dollars! Needless to say, I went into the ministry.
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” – JOHN 11:25,26
