The miracles of Jesus (part 7)
Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. So, He touched her hand and the fever left her. And she arose and served them. – Matthew 8:14,15
Over forty years ago as I was beginning my ministry, I ventured out of the church into the streets and had just found a family living in the woods in a school bus. I immediately found a home for them and called the local newspaper to do a story and ask for donations to furnish the home.
It was overwhelming all the stuff that was donated, so I rented a warehouse, and we moved them into a home, furnished, with food and new clothes and shoes for their three kids. All glory to God! That night a reporter and I came to see them, and as we walked in their daughter lay sick with a high fever, so I rebuked it and it left her.
Praise be to God His mercy endures forever. I learned a lot in those early days of ministry training in Holy Ghost university, or should I say Holy Ghost adversity. But being young in the Lord, I had loads of zeal that carried me through the tough times and His anointing that empowered me.
When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoked by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.” – Matthew 8:16,17
