Publish one time in The Ellis County Press on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021.
PUBLIC NOTICE
The City of Red Oak Public Works Department, and Ellis County Engineering Department, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby gives notice of the City and County’s intent to revise the flood hazard information, generally located along Brushy Creek and generally south of State Highway 342.
The flood hazard revisions are being proposed as part of Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR) Case No. 21-06-1560R for a proposed project along Brushy Creek.
BTH Ellis Partners is proposing to regrade and improve the existing Brushy Creek channel and overbanks as part of a project to reclaim land from the existing floodplain.
Once the project has been completed, a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) request should be submitted that will, in part, revise the following flood hazards along Brushy Creek.
1. The floodway will be revised from approximately 2,020 feet upstream of Rushy Creek Trail to just downstream of Highway 342 along Brushy Creek. The floodway will increase and decrease within the revised area.
2. Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) will decrease along Brushy Creek.
3. The SFHA will increase and decrease along Brushy Creek.
Maps and detailed analysis of the revision can be reviewed at the offices of Davis & McDill Inc., at 1014 Ferris Avenue, Suite 104-3, in Waxahachie, Texas.
Interested persons may call James H. McDill, P.E. at 972-938-1185 for additional information from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
