PUBLIC NOTICE
The City of Red Oak Public Works Department, and Ellis County Engineering Department, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby gives notice of the City and County’s intent to revise the flood hazard information, generally located south of State Highway 342.
Specifically, the flood hazard information shall be revised along Brushy Creek from a point approximately 2,280 feet downstream of State Highway 342 to a point immediately downstream of State Highway 342.
The flood hazard revisions are being proposed as part of Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) Case No. 24-06-0092P for a proposed project along Brushy Creek. BTH Ellis Partners has regraded and improved the existing Brushy Creek channel and overbanks as part of a project to reclaim land from the existing floodplain.
As a result of the revision, the floodway shall widen and narrow, the 1% annual chance water-surface elevations shall decrease, and the 1% annual chance floodplain shall widen and narrow within the area of revision.
