NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON CITY OF WILMER FY 2020-2021 PROPOSED BUDGET

The City Council of the City of Wilmer, Texas (the “City”) annually adopts a budget under the provisions of Chapter 101 of the Texas Local Government Code (the “Act”).

Pursuant to the Act, the City will conduct a public hearing at the City Council Regular Meeting on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. via teleconference. The meeting will be broadcast live by dialing either of the following phone numbers:

The City’s Proposed Budget includes expenditures from each fund as follows:

2020-2021 BUDGET EXPENDITURES

General Fund: $6,834,600

G.O. Debt Service: $977,532

Water/Wastewater: $2,607,214

Court Technology: $15,000

Capital Fund: $1,804,324

WEDC/4A: $795,274

WCDC/4B: $795,274

TOTAL: $13,829,218

THIS BUDGET WILL RAISE MORE REVENUE FROM PROPERTY TAXES THAN LAST YEAR’S BUDGET BY AN AMOUNT OF $88,816, WHICH IS A 3.47 PERCENT INCREASE FROM LAST YEAR’S BUDGET. THE PROPERTY TAX REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM NEW PROPERTY ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR IS $416,370.
