PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE 

PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION and CITY COUNCIL

City of Wilmer, Texas

In accordance with Chapter 211 of the Texas Local Government Code, the Planning & Zoning Commission and the City Council of the City of Wilmer, Texas will hold public hearings to consider an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance (Ord. No. 12.6.88) Section 10.C. “Conditional Uses” to add Subsection (5) in order to allow two-family dwelling units (duplexes) to be permitted in the Single-Family 2 (SF-2) District by a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) with certain delineated conditions and restrictions as follows:  (1) Minimum Lot Size – 7,000 sq. ft. for interior lots, 8,000 sq. ft. for corner lots (2) Each half of a duplex must be on a separately platted lot (3) No duplex shall be granted a CUP unless it is separated by a minimum of 500 feet from property line to property line from another duplex.

The first public hearing, and possible consideration/action, on this zoning request will be held before the Wilmer Planning & Zoning Commission on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

A second public hearing, and possible consideration/action, on this zoning request will be held before the Wilmer City Council on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.
