PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE 

PLANNING & ZONING 

COMMISSION and CITY COUNCIL

City of Wilmer, Texas

In accordance with Chapter 211 of the Texas Local Government Code, the Planning & Zoning Commission and the City Council of the City of Wilmer, Texas will hold public hearings to consider a zoning request initiated by Houston Copart Salvage Auto Auctions, L.P. (represented by Karl A. Crawley) to amend the current General Commercial (C2) zoning on the property to Planned Development (PD) on a certain tract of land that is currently addressed as 1200 Cottonwood Valley Road and 1601 E. Beltline Road and being further described as approximately 251.267 acres of land out of the C.A. Warfield Survey, being Tract 24, Abstract No. 1612, Page 75 and being Tract 3.2, Abstract No. 1613, Page 80 in the City of Wilmer, Dallas County, Texas.

The first public hearing, and possible consideration/action, on this zoning request will be held before the Wilmer Planning & Zoning Commission on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

A second public hearing, and possible consideration/action, on this zoning request will be held before the Wilmer City Council on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

Important Notice Regarding Public Participation at Public Meetings:  Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) public health emergency, and in an effort to reduce face-to-face contact, Governor Greg Abbott has granted a temporary suspension of certain provisions of the Texas Open Meetings Act.  

While preserving government transparency and maintaining government operations, the Planning and Zoning and City Council Meetings will be conducted by teleconference.
