PUBLIC NOTICE: STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF ELLIS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED ELLIS COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT NO. 11

STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF ELLIS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED

 

Pursuant to section 775.015 of the Health and Safety Code, this public notice is given to advise of the following:

1. The Ellis County Commissioners Court has received a petition to create an emergency services district to provide emergency services in Ellis County.

2. The district to be created will operate under Article Ill, Section 48-e, of the Texas Constitution, as proposed by S.J.R. No. 27, Acts of the 70th Legislature, Regular Session, 1987, and adopted by the voters at an election held November 3, 1987.

3. The proposed name of the district will be Ellis County Emergency Services District No. 11.

4. That the district's boundaries will generally include all the city limits of the City of Alma and portions of the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Alma, City of Ennis, and the City of Rice. The boundaries of the district are more particularly described by the description attached as Exhibit “A”.

5. That the hearing information is as follows:

LOCATION: 2ND Floor Courtroom of the Ellis County Historic Courthouse, 101 W. Main St., Waxahachie, TX 75165

 

6. That each person who has an interest in the creation of the district may attend the hearing and present grounds either for or against the creation of the district.

Description of Proposed Ellis County Emergency Services District No. 11

 

The current service area of Alma Volunteer Fire Department, as more particularly described below:

Beginning at the point of intersection of the Ellis-Navarro County line with the northern right of way line of Farm to Market Road 85, thence north and westerly along the northern right of way line of Farm to Market Road 85 until Farm to Market Road 85 becomes South Kaufman Street, continue north and westerly along the northern right of way line of South Kaufman Street to the point of intersection with the southern right of way line of South Interstate Highway 45 Service Road, thence south and easterly along the southern right of way line of South Interstate Highway 45 Service Road to the point of intersection with the southeast right of way line of National Drive, thence south and westerly along the southeast right of way line of National Drive to the point of intersection with the eastern right of way line of Sterilite Drive, thence south and easterly along the eastern right of way line of Sterilite Drive until Sterilite Drive becomes Rudd Road, continue south and easterly along the eastern right of way line of Rudd Road to the point of intersection with the southern right of way line of Blazek Road, thence north and easterly along the southern right of way line of Blazek Road to the point of intersection with the City of Alma City Limit as it existed on May 15, 2024, thence westerly along the northern border of the City of Alma City Limit as it existed on May 15, 2024 to the point of intersection with the western right of way line of Lyons Road thence south and easterly along the western right of way line of Lyons Road to the point of intersection with the northeast comer of that 143.6439 acre tract from the Gideon White Survey conveyed by special warranty deed from Robert Yaquinto, Jr., Trustee and the Estate of James W. Novak and Lynda Novak to Mary G. Novak Pinkert recorded in the official property records of Ellis County with the Ellis County Clerk by instrument number 0100192 volume 1749 page 935 January 4, 2001, thence south and westerly along the eastern boundary of said 143.6439 acre tract to the point of intersection with the center line of Cummins Creek, thence south and easterly along the center line of Cummins Creek to the point of intersection with the Ellis-Navarro County line, thence north and easterly along the Ellis-Navarro County line to the point of beginning, SAVE AND EXCEPT any territory within the boundaries of the City of Ennis City Limits as those City Limits existed on May 15, 2024.
