1 DEAD, 3 INJURED IN ATV ACCIDENT NEAR ALMA

ELLIS COUNTY – A one-vehicle crash April 29 on Whitfill Road, 0.07 miles northwest of FM-1182, resulted in three injuries and one death.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 2021 Honda Pioneer ATV driven by Carrie Heng, 40 of Ennis was traveling northwest on Whitfill Road with three passengers at an unsafe speed.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety, the posted speed limit is 30 mph.

No one riding in the ATV was wearing a seatbelt.

Due to the speed and being an off road vehicle operated on a roadway, the driver lost control. The vehicle flipped on the left side, ejecting all occupants.

Pheakday Heng, 46, of Ennis was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Dan Cox, pct 3.

The driver (Heng), along with Jaylee Wooley, 19, of Corsicana and Shaquille Dickerson, 27, of Waxahachie were transported to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.

The investigation is ongoing.
