Commissioners vote to continue Grievance Committee plan

ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Commissioner’s Court voted unanimously in its meetings earlier this month to continue to adhere to Local Government Code §152.014(A)(1) to determine the county’s composition of its Salary Grievance Committee.

Ellis County Judge Todd Little said Option A is “the combination of the citizens and the elected officials.”

The motion was made to “stay with the same process” and “stick with the elected officials and pull from the members.”

By choosing Option A the committee involves the county sheriff, county tax assessor/collector, county treasurer, county clerk, district clerk, county attorney and the citizens named during the passing of the item following on the agenda.

That item was for the selection of public members chosen from the 2023 Grand Jury List to complete the Salary Grievance Committee.

Little then read a series of names, which also included alternates and this item also passed unanimously.
