E.C. SHERIFF’S OFFICE WRAPS UP OPERATION FALL RECOVERY

ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Sheriff’s Department recently wrapped up Operation Fall Recovery.

The three-day operation in mid-November was conducted as a combined effort operation focusing on recovering stolen property/vehicles within Ellis County.

It included not only the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division, but also the Midlothian PD, the Red Oak PD, the Waxahachie PD, the Ennis PD, the Tri-County Auto Theft Taskforce, and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigative Division.

“While this time of year brings most of us peace joy and good will towards men, the criminal element uses it to exploit what they want,” Ellis County Sheriff Brad Norman said.

The result of the collaborative effort, which consisted of 246 traffic contacts, allowed the deputies and officers from the combined agencies to recover two stolen vehicles (F-250 and Dodge Charger), two semi-trailers, two utility trailers, one skid steer and one stolen motor.

The total value of the recovered vehicles/equipment was estimated at $173,000.

In addition to the recovered vehicles/property, five individuals were arrested, and 20 arrest warrants were cleared.

Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division also took part with the task of managing all the communications-related duties associated with the operation.

“Operation Fall Recovery was a collaborative effort from all the agencies involved, which focused on identifying criminal networks that target the property of our great citizens,” Norman concluded. “It was a huge success, and thank you to all of those involved.”
