ECU Powerlifting Team prepares for Texas Winter Games in Austin

FORT WORTH – After a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ellis County United Special Olympics Powerlifting Team was back in action at the North Texas Region Powerlifting meet held at Dissent Athletics in Fort Worth Feb. 4.
“It was a successful outing with the weightlifters picking up 16 Gold medals and 13 Silver medals – while setting 21 new personal best records,” according to a news release.
“They now prepare for the Texas Special Olympics Winter Games to be held in Austin on Feb. 17-18.”
Ellis County United is a county-wide delegation for year-round support of athletic opportunities in several sports for individuals with disabilities.
