Join Ferris in celebrating exciting Sesquicentennial

Ferris – The City of Ferris will be celebrating 150 years of rich history this Saturday, Sept. 28. 

The event promises to be a spectacular showcase of Ferris’s unique heritage, offering activities and entertainment for residents and visitors alike.

Founded in 1874, Ferris has grown into a vibrant community that honors its past while looking forward to the future. Originally established as a stop on the Houston and Texas Central Railway, Ferris quickly became a center for agriculture and trade. 

Today, it continues to honor its roots while embracing progress and innovation.

The Sesquicentennial celebration will take place  and will feature a variety of activities designed to entertain and engage attendees of all ages. Highlights include:

Gunfight Reenactment – Step back in time with a thrilling reenactment of a classic Wild West gunfight, bringing history to life on the streets of Ferris.

Brick Decorating Contest – Showcase your artistic talents by participating in our brick decorating contest.

Petting Zoo & Pony Rides – Perfect for families, children will delight in interacting with friendly animals and enjoy pony rides.

Pioneer-Themed Photo Booth – Capture memories with friends and family in our pioneer-themed photo booth, complete with costumes and props.

Vendors & Food Trucks – Explore a diverse array of vendors offering unique products, crafts, and delicious food options.

The City of Ferris invites everyone to join in the celebration of 150 years of history, community, and progress.
