Loop 9 Phase 1 set to be completed in 2025
RED OAK – By now, most people in the Red Oak area when traveling from Red Oak to Lancaster have likely seen the construction of the 10-mile, six lane road being constructed, along with the ever-changing landscape of residential real estate in the area.
That construction is specifically Loop 9’s Phase 1 project, linking Interstate Highway 35E in Red Oak to IH-45 north of Ferris.
Promising to bring greater connectivity to this part of the Best Southwest region, the project will also be certain to entice even more business to this northern part of Ellis County.
While no specific information seems to be available for the exact completion date of this segment, the TxDot website indicates what we are seeing now is Phase 1.
Phase 1 began construction in March of 2022, and it is noted will take three years to construct.
The roadway should be open to traffic by 2025.
The estimated total cost for phase 1 will come in at $297 million.
TxDot’s website noted, “Construction of Phase 2 and Phase 3 will be determined based on projected traffic and funding availability (as warranted).
“At that time, cost estimates will be developed based on the current market values.”
