MEALS ON WHEELS NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS ANNOUNCES A MATCHING GRANT OPPORTUNITY
CLEBURNE – Every dollar donated to the Meals on Wheels North Central Texas Capital Campaign: “Building with Love” before May 1 will double up to $100,000, thanks to a matching gift from the Hoblitzelle Foundation, according to a recent news release.
“We invite our communities to join us in this amazing journey, and to assist in reaching our goal to receive the full match amount,” stated the release.
“Each day, 12,000 Americans turn 60-years-old, resulting in a rapid increase of the senior population. This, combined with our now 3,401 square-mile service area, has lead the organization to outgrow our current space, leaving us with no room to grow.”
The capital campaign includes:
• A large 40x40 square-foot freezer, providing much needed space to hold food.
• Office space for staff to properly care for seniors, providing the privacy needed to have personal conversations with senior adults and family members.
• A training space to ensure all staff and volunteers are equipped with the means necessary to respond appropriately in delicate situations.
“We need $4.3 million to complete this project. Sixty-three percent of the needed donations have already come in, but 37- percent – $1.5 million – is still needed,” the release continued.
“Right now, every dollar (up to $100,000) doubles in impact until May 1.”
