Midlothian officer recognized for keeping highways safe

MIDLOTHIAN – The Midlothian Police Department is proud to have bragging rights when it comes to one of their own being recognized for keeping the highways a little safer.

Officer Chris Vinson became a member of the Midlothian Police Department’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement team in 2018.

He was recently acknowledged in the world of commercial vehicle inspection, not only for the part he played representing Texas at the recent Inspectors’ Championship, but as Midlothian Assistant Police Chief Scott Brown said, also plays an important role as a Midlothian Police Department CVE team member, where Vinson and his colleagues work to keep the highways safe.

The competition was open to inspectors from any agency across the State of Texas, and Vinson earned 2nd Place trophies in Level One Inspection, as well as Hazardous Materials Inspection. He also earned the title of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program “Overall Reserve Champion” from the USDOT’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Brown pointed out, “Midlothian is a city with a rich industrial background and the department believes commercial vehicle inspection is important.

“Vinson, a member of our Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, represented our region at the Texas Challenge this week in Corpus Christi.

“This is an annual state-wide competition for commercial vehicle inspectors who represent the best inspectors of each region in the state.”
