Red Oak man charged with tampering with a government record
RED OAK – On May 12, Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division completed a nine-month investigation and arrested Randy Lynn Nance, 47, of Red Oak.
The investigation stemmed from suspicious activity discovered while Nance was an American Medical Response Operations Manager in Ellis County.
Nance started employment with AMR in December 2015, and resigned in September/October 2022.
The suspicious activity was related to discrepancies in compliance reports Nance submitted to the Cities of Waxahachie, Red Oak, Ennis, and Ellis County.
Criminal Investigations executed a search warrant at Nance’s employment, seizing his work computer.
Through a computer forensics examination, criminal investigators noted evidence showing Nance made false entries and alterations to governmental record data.
As a result, Nance was charged with tampering with a government record, a state jail felony.
He was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie and issued a $5,000 bond at arraignment.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office thanks the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office Crime Laboratory, Ellis County Fire Marshal’s Office, Ellis County & District Attorney’s Office, the Waxahachie Police and Fire Department, Ennis Police and Fire Department, and the Red Oak Police and Fire Departments.
