RO POLICE WALKING TO RAISE DRUNK DRIVING AWARENESS
RED OAK – The Red Oak Police Department will be walking to raise awareness about the effects of drunk driving, and they need your help.
The walk will be held on Oct. 15 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Levy Event Plaza in Irving, Texas.
There are multiple ways to help support the cause by joining the walk, donating, or just spreading the word.
The police department’s goal is to raise $1000, and currently they have raised $820.
The Walk Like MADD event is sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
According to the Walk Like MADD website approximately 10.22% of Texas residents have been involved in a drunk driving crash at some point in their lives. There have been 24.14% of Texas drivers who have driven drunk have been charged with a DWI or DUI. Approximately 13.79% of drivers who have driven drunk have served jail time for doing so.
