State Rep. Carl Sherman joins the Texas Advisory Committee of USGLC
LANCASTER – Texas State Representative Carl O. Sherman announced his selection to the Texas Advisory Committee of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, a national non-profit dedicated to strengthening American development and diplomacy.
The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition works across the country to strengthen America’s civilian-led tools, development and diplomacy, alongside defense. By advocating for a strong international affairs budget, the USGLC works to make America’s international affairs programs a keystone of U.S. foreign policy.
The grassroots portion of the USGLC is a series of 32 state advisory committees consisting of bipartisan professionals in business, nonprofit, faith, military, and politics who advise the national coalition on issues pertaining to that state. The USGLC’s Texas Advisory Committee brings together more than 230 such leaders who understand how American global leadership matters for Texas, including three former U.S. representatives, a former U.S. cabinet secretary, a former Texas secretary of state, numerous individuals who have held office at the state level, 13 current and former Mayors, and 7 U.S. Generals.
Kiersten Kullenberg, USGLC’s Outreach Director for Texas, K, said of Representative Sherman, “It is obvious [Rep. Sherman] is quite passionate about being involved in his community and the social geopolitical global neighborhood.
“We are delighted to have him join our dedicated and expert Advisory Committee in the state and look forward to working closely with him to show why America leading globally matters locally to communities throughout the Lone Star State.”
