Unofficial results in District Judge 443rd runoff this week
ELLIS COUNTY – In unofficial results for the District Judge 443rd seat Grace Pandithurai is the victor in the runoff election from May 28.
Pandithurai faced opponent Greg Wilhelm in the runoff election and beat her opponent with 3,521 votes or 63.13% to Wilhelm’s 2,056 votes or 36.87% of the vote.
Wilhelm had garnered the highest vote count in the election. However, he nor Pandithurai received over 50% of the vote to win the election, which three opponents were vying for when current 443rd Court Judge Cindy Ermatinger did not seek reelection.
There are 141,770 registered voters in Ellis County. Of that number, only 5,585 or 3.94% of those voters showed up to the runoff election to determine the county’s next 443rd criminal court judge.
