UPDATE: Defunct Snap Fitness reimburses Ferris resident for unused membership
FERRIS – As an update to last week’s story, Snap Fitness, which closed its doors in Ferris last month, recently reimbursed Ferris resident, Terry Murphy for the prorated amount of a six-month membership for two people.
The remainder of Murphy’s six-month membership became unusable when the business unexpectedly closed its doors.
Murphy said he thought he was making a good decision paying the $380 in advance for two memberships for him and a friend at the city’s fitness gym.
After discussion with the local Snap Fitness employees and reaching out to his bank, Murphy said he was reimbursed $179 of the $380 for the months he had paid in advance.
“It was the Ferris Snap Fitness that reimbursed me and not corporate,” Murphy explained.
Residents said they were sad to see the fitness center, which had been located on FM 664 go.
“A nearby gym was one of those businesses that you didn’t know you needed until it was here,” one resident explained. Murphy had used less than two months of his six month membership when the doors closed.
“I didn’t think I would get reimbursed,” Murphy concluded. “It was a pleasant surprise when I got the call that they would be reimbursing me.”
