Ennis
Ennis Bluebonnet Call Center – 972-695-3524. People will be directed to an appropriate facility when calling this number.
Ferris
First Baptist Church in conjunction with the City of Ferris is offering their facility as a warming shelter during this unprecedented weather event. Please note, this is available to anyone in the community and COVID social distancing and mask protocols are mandatory. There is simply no guarantee that power will remain available with the rolling blackouts, but they have graciously allowed the facility to be utilized while there is.
The Ferris Fire Department will be making occasional stops to check on all patrons of the warming center.

Midlothian
Midlothian’s warming shelter is located at the Midlothian Conference Center, 1 Community Circle. There are no amenities and people are ask to bring their own blankets and snacks. Pets are not allowed and COVID-19 precautions are required.
Ovilla
In Ovilla Grace Church of Ovilla at 519 South Westmoreland Road has opened a warming shelter. There are cots and those using this shelter are ask to bring their own sheets. COVID-19 precautions are required and there will be a temperature check at the door. For more information contact 972-617-7262, and dial extension 140.
Red Oak
Red Oak is offering a 48-hour warming shelter in the old Red Oak ISD Junior High Gymnasium at 200 Live Oak St. If a resident has been without power for an hour or more they are invited to use this facility to warm up. The gym can be accessed from the front doors on the far left of the building entrance. COVID-19 protocols are required and individuals need to stay with families.
Pets are permitted if in kennels, crates or carriers only. For extended outages residents are encouraged to bring snacks and water as well as pillows, blankets and padded mats.
There is limited access to power outlets to charge phones or other devices.
Waxahachie
According to sources there are two warming shelters in Waxahachie that could be opened. The City of Waxahachie did not have immediate information when called and transferred to a voice mail with no details. If you are in need of a place to shelter call Waxahachie at 469-309-4000 or Ellis County at 972-825-5000.
Waxahachie Bible Church
People have gathered today at Waxahachie Bible Church because they have lost power at their homes or apartment. They are cold and hungry. If you need a warm place to stay tonight, the church is open. Bring a blanket and pillows.
