Waxahachie raises $26,000 to fight Alzheimer’s Disease
WAXAHACHIE – Ellis County residents participated in this year’s Ellis County Walk to End Alzheimer’s® in downtown Waxahachie over the weekend.
Participants raised $26,000 to support the care, support and research programs of the Alzheimer’s Association.
“With the help of the residents of Ellis County we raised $26,000 from the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in downtown Waxahachie,” said Brandon Cofield, Fundraising Manager, Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
“At 64% to goal, and until Dec, 31 to reach it, I have every confidence we will surpass that goal. Thank you to the City of Waxahachie, the volunteers and our over 200 walkers. See you next year!”
Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease – a leading cause of death in the United States.
Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Texas, there are more than 459,000 people living with the disease and 1 million caregivers.
