Woman allegedly steals $20,000 from Maypearl Youth Cheer Association
MAYPEARL – Ellis County resident Ashley Nicole Boston reportedly embezzled almost $20,000 from the Maypearl Youth Cheer Association.
Boston was the former president of the association.
Reports allege Boston used the money for items such as nail salons, groceries, liquor and direct deposits to a Venmo account.
An arrest warrant indicated current association president Kayla Williams and other mothers whose elementary daughters cheer for the association “found out that equipment had not been ordered because the money was not in the accounts…” from last year.
The audit to discover the time frame for the missing money indicated it was apparently for years 2020 to 2023.
Maypearl Police did not respond to questions regarding the investigation.
Boston’s felony warrant was issued on June 27 and she turned herself in.
