The creative power of prayer (part 3)

“God, who gives life to the dead and calls these things which do not exist as though they did.” – Romans 4:17

Creative power is creating something with nothing more than the substance of faith as God did when He called into existence the entire creation. Creative power is not “name it and claim it” as some would think, but believing the promises of God in faith and acting on them.

For instance, Jesus called to Peter as He walked on water toward them in the sea and said, “Come to Me,” something humanly impossible to do, but Peter believed and stepped out of the boat and actually walked on water. He believed, he acted on his belief and succeeded until he took his eyes off Jesus and looked upon his circumstances, a raging sea and sunk.

Jesus went to his friend Lazarus who had died and was in the grave four days and to the amazement of the crowd of friends and family members He cried out, “Lazarus come forth!” Lazarus came out of the grave alive and well, but if Jesus had just said, “Come forth!” the whole graveyard would have come out.

“For assuredly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20
