The creative power of prayer (part 10)
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save (deliver) the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins he will be forgiven.” – James 5:13-15
Within the true church of Jesus Christ is the power of God to heal, deliver and to defeat principalities. The body of the living Christ is the representation of Jesus in the earth with the same power that raised Him from the dead, available to them who believe.
Sadly today, many of the churches don’t know who they are in Christ and are not trained and equipped to do the work of service they are called to do. True elders are mature, seasoned saints of Jesus who have been tried and tested by the fires of tribulation, equipped to pray for the sick, cast out demons and even raise the dead.
It is the intent of the Lord Jesus for His body of sold out believers to walk this earth as He did, setting the captives free and expanding the kingdom of God on earth. Our mission statement is the same as the Lord's as His anointed ambassadors, walking in His place and doing the greater works promised to all who would believe in The Creative Power of Prayer.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon us, because He has anointed us to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent us to heal the brokenhearted. To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” – Luke 4:18,19
