The believer’s mission statement (part 3)
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon us, because He has anointed us to preach the gospel to the poor.” – Luke 4:18
The apostle Paul said in Romans 1:16 that he was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it was the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. We are all commanded to GO and preach to all nations and make disciples.
Although there have been some great preachers and evangelists such as Billy Graham and many of the old revivalists, God has intended for us, the body of Christ to preach to the lost world around us in our area of influence. If you don't consider yourself a preacher you have a testimony you can share if you are born again and be just as effective to touch people's hearts with the gospel.
We as believers will all stand at the judgment seat of Christ and be judged for what we did or didn't do in the body of Christ, hopefully without any blood on our hands for those we didn't reach. It is our responsibility to reach the lost and compel them to be saved and delivered from sin. We are the only ones they will see as representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ who are anointed to preach His glorious gospel to them.
“Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” – I Timothy 4:2
