The believer’s mission statement (part 7)
“To set at liberty those who are oppressed.” – Luke 4:18
Oppression means to crush by abuse of power or authority and there are millions, even in the church who are oppressed by the devil. Satan has no authority over the believer or power other than what we have given him.
Many today don’t want to admit or even hear about, oppression, possession or demons and spiritual warfare, instead turning to the world for help.
In America, because we are too smart and sophisticated to believe in supernatural things, unless of course it is new age or some eastern religion considered fashionable by the elite and the devil is having a field day.
Don’t lose sight of the fact that this is your mission statement and you are responsible to set the captives free and to learn and perform signs, wonders and miracles of healing and deliverance. We have been given all power and authority over the powers of darkness and Jesus has called us to defeat His enemies as He intercedes for us, sitting at the right hand of the throne of God.
“God anointed Jesus (and us) with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” – Acts 10:38
