FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (July 25, 2019)
The Ferris Public Library’s 2019 Summer Reading Club “A Universe of Stories” was a tremendous success!
We had a total of 1,971 people in attendance throughout this program. We had as much fun as the children, teens, and parents who attended.
As with any event, there are several people who contribute to making it possible. The following local businesses provided reading incentives to each child that read the required number of books for their age group: Dairy Queen, Ferris Donuts, Ferris Fruit Stand, I-45 Donuts, Javier’s Café, Metro Grill, Milano’s Pizza, and Taquerias Emmanuel.
We would also like to send a big thank you to the Ferris mayor, council members, library board members, fire department, police department and The Ellis County Press. With everyone’s participation, I feel we have influenced and impacted the lives of our youngest and most treasured citizens.
I cannot say enough about library staff members: Stacey Lankford, Aurora Ramirez and Alejandra Pozo, who always work tirelessly to be a positive influence in our community.
The Ferris Public Library’s Annual Book Sale is currently being held. All hardcover books, fiction, and non-fiction for all ages are only $1.00, and DVDs are $2 each.
All items in this sale have been generously donated throughout the year. We have reduced prices even further! Books are now 2 for $1, and DVDs are $1.
For this price, there is something for everyone! Truly there are some good books and movies available.
