 FY 2019-2020 Proposed Budget

The City Council of the City of Wilmer, Texas (the “City”) annually adopts a budget under the provisions of Chapter 101 of the Texas Local Government Code (the “Act”).

Pursuant to the Act, the City will conduct a public hearing at its Special Meeting on Thursday, August 22, 2019. The second public hearing will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019. Both public hearings will be held in the Community Center, 101 Davidson Plaza, Wilmer, Texas at 7:00 p.m. 

The City Administrator’s Proposed Budget includes expenditures from each fund as follows:

2019-2020 Budget Funds/Expenditures

General Fund: $6,659,732

G.O. Debt Service: $1,083,355

WaterWastewater: $1,795,961

WEDC/4A: $1,325,000

WCDC/4B: $1,325,000

Total: $12,189,048

THIS BUDGET WILL RAISE LESS REVENUE FROM PROPERTY TAXES THAN LAST YEAR’S BUDGET BY AN AMOUNT OF $-367,351, WHICH IS A -9.17 PERCENT DECREASE FROM LAST YEAR’S BUDGET. THE PROPERTY TAX REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM NEW PROPERTY ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR IS $165,761.
