FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (September 12, 2019)
The Ferris Public Library has several spots filled for our Book a Librarian program that begins on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
You may call us at 972-544-3696 to reserve an hour between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to learn Microsoft Word, Basic Excel, and PowerPoint. Library staff may also assist you in creating an email account or showing you how to use Facebook.
Book a Librarian sessions are free of charge and hopefully a fun learning experience for you.
The Ferris Police Department is now accepting applications for the Citizen’s Police Academy to begin on Oct. 8 from 6:30 – 9 p.m.
This is a six-week course to be held each Tuesday at the Ferris Public Library. Applications are available at the Ferris Police Department 111 Ewing St., or here at the library.
The deadline to turn in applications to the Police Department is Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. For more information contact Officer Peter Santi at 972-842-2092 or email petersanti@ferristexas.gov. Seating is limited so apply early.
After-School Game Time for ages 7 through 17, is held every Tuesday, from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Kids can play Wii and PS4 on the large screens, and for those that like the board games they can play them as well.
Story Time for pre-school children is on each Wednesday, at 11 a.m. Children will be treated to a story, fun activities, and have a snack. Before leaving, your child may choose a prize from the Treasure Chest.
