FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (December 19, 2019)
The Ferris Public Library now has Ancestry.com installed on all our adult public computers.
Ancestry is the world’s largest online history resource. With your library membership or guest pass, you may access all this fantastic information to create your family tree, research military records and so much more.
The library’s Annual Food for Fines will end Dec. 20. In participating in this program, you may clear your account with non-perishable food donations.
Here’s how it works; every dollar you have for past due fines, you can gift one can or package of food. This applies to past due fines only; items must be returned to the library. All the food collected will be given to a local food bank, which will be a win-win for everyone. Your account gets cleared, the library’s records will get cleaned up, and people in our community will benefit.
If you’re not sure if you have any past due fines, please feel free to call us at 972-544-3696. Of course, we accept donations from those that are feeling generous during this giving time of year.
Morning Movie Matinee will be at the library on Friday, Dec. 27, at 10 a.m. We will be showing the newly released “Abominable”, Rated PG, and is 98 minutes run time. Popcorn and drinks are provided. Children ages ten and under must be accompanied by an adult.
