FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (February 13, 2020)
The Ferris Public Library issued free library memberships to 67 non-resident children, who also enjoyed free face painting on Take Your Child to the Library Day. We had a great time. If you missed it this year, we hold this annual event on the first Saturday of February, and this year was our eighth time to host this national event and is for children ages 7 – 16 years of age.
To celebrate Black History Month, Stacey Lankford has created a fantastic book display. We have terrific books available to enrich your child’s knowledge of black history, and of course, we also have adult books as well for your reading pleasure. As a bonus, we have “flagged” three of the children’s books, and the three children who check out one of these books will win a $5.00 gift card. We also have our Valentine’s Day collection of books and movies available for your recreational reading.
It’s tax time again, love it or hate it; it’s here. We have the 1040 and 1040-SR forms and instruction books. Form 1040 has been redesigned, and the 1040-SR has been introduced for use by taxpayers age 65 or older. Staff members may also retrieve various forms for you from IRS.gov but are not allowed to help you fill out tax papers. Copies are 10¢ per page.
New Books: “Final Option: The Oregon Files” (LP) by Clive Cussler and Boyd Morrison, “A Single Light” (LP) by Tosca Lee, “Big Lies in a Small Town” by Diane Chamberlain, “Criss Cross” by James Patterson, “A Minute to Midnight” by David Baldacci, “Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators” (Dewey 331) by Ronan Farrow, and “Delish Insane Sweets” (Dewey 641) by Joanna Saltz.
