ON THE JOB TRAINING (part 14)
Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” – MATTHEW 9:2
Does sin cause sickness? Yes – and in some cases so do generational curses that are hereditary diseases passed down through our bloodline. When you are praying for the sick always deal with a person’s heart and have them ask for forgiveness and then pray for the ailment to be healed.
Jesus healed all disease and all curses were removed through the shedding of His blood on the cross as well as all sin was forgiven. To receive this great benefit we must appropriate the gift by receiving that which has already been done. We are healed, delivered and forgiven by His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection. Psalm 103:1-5.
The Scribes and Pharisees always got upset by Jesus forgiving sin and healing disease because they didn’t recognize Him as God. He performed these miracles for a witness of His divinity and His compassion and mercy for us whom He loves.
“For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk?’” “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins. Arise, take up your bed, and go to your home.” – MATTHEW 9:5,6
