Primary Runoff Elections early voting begins May 16
ELLIS COUNTY – Amid the elections in May for city council and independent school board trustees, which will be held May 7, later next month the Primary Runoff Election for the Republican and Democratic parties will be held too.
The Primary Runoff Election will be held on Tuesday, May 24 with early voting from May 16 to 20.
An email from the Elections Office stated, “Voters in Ellis County during Early Voting and on Election Day can vote at any Vote Center Polling Location in Ellis County.”
The Republican Party Primary includes the Attorney General candidates Ken Paxton and George P. Bush, Commissioner of the General Land Office candidates Dawn Buckingham and Tim Westley, and Texas Railroad Commissioner candidates Wayne Christian and Sarah Stogner.
Closer to home, the Republican primary has J.J. Brookshire and Jais Munoz running for the seat of Precinct Chair, Precinct 1034, and candidates Terry Todd and Dorinda Sims for Precinct Chair 1055.
For the Democratic party primary, that ballot will consist of Michelle Beckley and Mike Collier facing off for the chance to run for the Lieutenant Governor seat, as well as Rochelle Mercedes Garza and Joe Jaworski up for the Democratic place on the Attorney General ballot in the November election.
Also on the Democratic ballot is Comptroller of Public Accounts with Janet Dudding and Angel Luis Vega vying, and for the Commissioner of General Land Office seat both Sandragrace Martinez and Jay Kleberg are facing off.
