Confrontation over parking space leads to shooting
WAXAHACHIE – Possible anger issues were the cause of a shooting last week in Waxahachie.
The shooting resulted in one man being hospitalized and another going to jail.
Waxahachie police are investigating the shooting, which occurred in a set of townhouses in the 100 block of Kaufman Street in Waxahachie at 3 p.m. last Tuesday.
According to police the victim, Shane Post, a professional bodybuilder, is still in the hospital this week.
Waxahachie police officers were dispatched to the Kaufman Street address and found Post shot once in the torso.
Officers began life saving measures on Post until AMR arrived. He was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Waxahachie. He has reportedly been moved from Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Waxahachie to Methodist Dallas ICU, where he is in stable condition.
The suspect, identified as Nikki Brown of Waxahachie, was still at the location when police arrived.
He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Initial investigation indicates the shooting was the result of a confrontation about a parking space.
Brown has since bonded out of the Ellis County Wayne McCollum Detention Center.
There were multiple witnesses on the scene who provided statements to detectives.
There was also a video of the incident showing Brown taking out a handgun and shooting Post.
According to a report, the two families have had disagreements in the past.
