FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (December 8, 2022)
Ho! Ho! Ho!
We have a whole lot of books celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa for your reading and cooking pleasure. Adult books range from Romance to Mystery, with several Entertaining and Cooking books.
And, we can’t leave out the children! Just to name a few titles the Ferris Public Library has available are: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, “Pete the Cat Saves Christmas”, “Llama Llama Holiday Drama”, “Diego Saves Christmas”, “My Weird School: Deck the Halls”, “We’re Off the Walls” and “Junie B. Jones First Grader, Jingle Bells, Batman Smells”! Also, we have the classics such as “A Christmas Carol”, “The Night Before Christmas”, “The Polar Express”, and many more!
The library has a great collection of holiday movies and newly released DVDs that your family can enjoy together. My personal favorite is “Elf” with Will Ferrell and the late, but great, James Caan.
The Ferris Public Library has a new phone number, (972) 544-2110, and select option 9. The library’s hours of operation are Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
You may always email us at ferrislibrary@ferristexas.gov.
NEW BOOKS: “The Challenge” by Danielle Steel, “Racing the Light” by Robert Crais, “Ralph Compton’s Seven Roads to Revenge” (LP) by Carlton Stowers, “Under the Starry Skies: Love on the Santa Fe Series #3” by Tracie Peterson, “It Ends With Us #1” and “It Starts With Us #2” both by Colleen Hoover.
WORD OF THE WEEK: “Abominable” (uh-BAH-muh-nuh-bul): adjective meaning very bad or unpleasant. King Henry VIII was thought of as a tyrant based on his abominable behavior, leading a series of unsuccessful bloody wars and executing two of his six wives. Of course, we can’t forget about the Abominable Snowman!
