Ellis County endorses prohibiting minors sex reassignment

ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Commissioners and Ellis County Judge Todd Little signed a resolution last month unanimously supporting all current Texas bills intended to restrict the exposure of children to obscene material and to prohibit medical interference with the natural, sexual development of children. 

“We must protect our next generation from those who intentionally confuse the sense of God-given, biological identity of children,” said Little.

The timeliness of the resolution corresponds with April being Child Abuse Prevention Month.

In the resolution, it reads “to deliberately expose children to sexually-explicit material in such a way that confuses their natural identity, or to deliberately impede their natural development, constitutes child abuse.”

There are dozens of bills that have been filed this session in the Texas House and Senate. These bills include legislators who represent Ellis County, according to a news release from Judge Little with the idea to restrict the distribution or display of sexually-explicit material to children. 

It was also noted, similar bills have been introduced to criminalize chemical or surgical interference with the natural, sexual development of minors. 

“In recent months, we have seen an increased effort by activists to target our children, the most innocent and impressionable among us, with sexually-explicit material they have no business seeing. 

“Ultimately, exposure at such a young age could impede their healthy mental development with life-altering consequences,” Little said.

The Ellis County Court resolution endorses the calling on Texas lawmakers to “stand firmly by all bills that safeguard the innocence, emotional development, and natural growth of children.”

“This is not about ‘sex education’ or hormone therapy,” Little stated. 

“This is about responding to a disturbing movement in our society that seeks to cause all children to question their biology, and to normalize obscenity under the guise of ‘inclusiveness.’ 

“The future of any great nation rests largely upon the hope of its next generation, and as elected officials we stand firmly against these predations against the healthy development of all children.”
