MAMMOGRAPHY UNIT SET FOR NOVEMBER

ELLIS COUNTY – Ellis County Commissioners again approved a UT Southwestern Medical Center Mobile Mammography Service Agreement, as in years past.

Ellis County Human Resources Director Theresa Taylor said the mobile unit comes to Ellis County once a year, and up to 20 women take part in this benefit – with room for more.

The mobile unit in Ellis County is scheduled for Nov. 17 this year, and it takes about 30 minutes for the mammogram.

Commissioner Paul Perry, pct. 3,  spoke in favor of the work that UT Southwestern Medical continues to do to save lives, and commended their offering this service in Ellis County.

The county recently signed a contract for $9.5-million for the renovation of a building in downtown Waxahachie as the city’s new citizen service center.

The move-in date is expected for summer 2024.
